Customs Clearance & Trade Compliance Support
This project focused on stabilizing customs clearance and trade compliance for recurring import shipments that were experiencing unpredictable clearance timelines and regulatory interruptions. The objective was to reduce clearance friction, improve documentation accuracy, and create a repeatable compliance process aligned with destination requirements.
The client was importing industrial electrical components for commercial construction projects and faced repeated delays caused by documentation inconsistencies, HS code misalignment, and late responses to customs queries. Freight Cargo Global was engaged to review the end-to-end clearance workflow and introduce stronger compliance controls before cargo arrival.
Our team conducted a detailed assessment of commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipment declarations, aligning product descriptions and classifications with applicable customs regulations. We coordinated directly with the appointed customs broker to pre-empt inspection triggers and ensure that all required supporting documents were prepared in advance.
Throughout the project, we established a structured communication process between the shipper, broker, and consignee. Clearance milestones were tracked closely, and escalation protocols were put in place to address customs queries without disrupting downstream delivery schedules. This approach reduced uncertainty and allowed project timelines to be planned with greater confidence.
- Pre-clearance documentation review and HS code alignment.
- Customs broker coordination and query management.
- Clearance milestone tracking and escalation handling.
By the conclusion of the engagement, customs clearance timelines had become more consistent, inspection-related disruptions were reduced, and the client gained a clearer understanding of compliance requirements for future shipments. The clearance process shifted from reactive problem-solving to controlled execution.
